TiSK: Better learning through mindfulness

A Training in Key Skills: Presence Training

2023/11/20 09:50-12:00

Do you wish you had a better study-life balance? More productivity and more relaxed exam periods? Yes? Then we might have something for you!

The magic word is mindfulness – a millennia-old Buddhist concept that can improve our lives and learning by focusing on the present moment. You don't need to embark on exotic journeys of self-discovery or spend hours philosophizing about your existence to do this – for lasting change, a daily time commitment analogous to a TV commercial break is perfectly sufficient.

During the training you will get to know the ancient concept from a modern point of view – and especially discover its usefulness in an academic context. You will learn about the neurological changes associated with long-term mindfulness practice, how mindfulness helps you to act in a way that is more beneficial to learning, and how to better deal with stress and (exam) anxiety. In addition, you will receive suggestions on how you can promote mindfulness yourself in everyday life.

This training is designed for anyone who wants to learn more about mindfulness – regardless of whether you have never heard of it before or whether mindfulness practices are already an integral part of your everyday life.
