Report on the day of tutorial work 2024

We celebrate all tutors for their dedication and commitment to teaching!

2024/06/20

On Thursday, 6 June 2024, many departments and institutions at the Technical University of Darmstadt celebrated Tutor Work Day. This nationwide event is dedicated to recognising and thanking tutors for their indispensable contribution to university teaching. The Key Skills team at the Center for Educational Development and Technology (HDA) also celebrated the tutors at TU Darmstadt!

Tutors are central to good teaching at universities. They support students individually and personally in their learning process, offer tutorials and exercise groups and therefore make a significant contribution to academic success. Without their commitment, studying would not be the same for many students. They are role models and accompany their fellow students from start to finish on their academic journey.

To mark Tutoring Day, the Key Skills team from the Center for Educational Development and Technology (HDA) invited students and tutors to the reading courtyard at ULB Stadtmitte. There, they were able to find out about the services offered by the central service centre and exchange ideas with each other. This led to stimulating conversations about the work and role of tutors. In addition to coffee and biscuits, there was a small art project to say a creative thank you to all tutors. Students were also able to write postcards for their favourite tutors to thank them for their commitment.
In cooperation with individual departments, we also visited tutors in their tutorials to say thank you in person.

The Key Competences Team of the University Didactics Centre at TU Darmstadt would like to thank all tutors for their great engagement!
