Online info event: STACK – Developing mathematics tasks for digital teaching

on 06.12.2022 from 16 to 17

STACK (System for Teaching and Assessment using a Computer algebra Kernel) can be used to design digital mathematics tasks that provide comprehensive assessment and feedback capabilities using feedback trees.

With the help of STACK (System for Teaching and Assessment using a Computer algebra Kernel), digital mathematics tasks can be designed that enable comprehensive assessment and feedback possibilities with the help of feedback trees.

Due to the high adaptability and reusability of tasks through the use of random variables and the integration as a task type into the central LMS Moodle of the TU Darmstadt, these tasks are applicable in the teaching and examination context.

As part of the HessenHub sub-project “TU-WAS: Web-based task collection with STACK”, a web-based task collection was developed at the TU Darmstadt at the Department of Mathematics to support math courses in first-year engineering studies.

In this information event, Ömer Genc, an academic assistant at the Department of Mathematics, will present the project and the findings regarding the effectiveness of digital tasks on the learning behavior of students as well as the basic possibilities of STACK tasks and the requirements for creating them in an overview.
