Dropout and subsequent career path
The Dropout Survey is aimed at former students who have withdrawn from TU Darmstadt without obtaining a degree. Respondents are invited to evaluate their studies in retrospect, state the reasons for dropping out and describe their subsequent career paths.

The Dropout Survey – briefly described
In the 2024/25 winter semester, a cohort of former students who had left TU Darmstadt without completing their degree were surveyed for the first time about their discontinued studies and their subsequent career paths. The Dropout Survey will continue for three years from the 2026/27 winter semester.
The findings can be used to further develop degree programmes, teaching and advisory services. The Dropout Survey is also part of the Hesse-wide follow-up studies project, which is being carried out on behalf of the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Arts and Culture, and coordinated by the Institute for Applied Statistics (ISTAT)
