Report on the 2025 Tutorial Work Day
We celebrate all tutors for their dedication and commitment to teaching!
2025/06/12
On Thursday, 5 June 2025, many departments and institutions at Technische Universität Darmstadt celebrated the Tutorial Work Day. This nationwide event is dedicated to recognising and thanking tutors for their invaluable contribution to university teaching. The Key Skills team of the Center for Educational Development and Technology (HDA) also joined in celebrating the tutors of TU Darmstadt!
Tutors play a key role in ensuring high-quality teaching at universities. They support students individually and personally throughout their learning process, offer tutorials and study groups, and thus make a significant contribution to academic success. Without their commitment, studying would not be the same for many students. Tutors serve as role models and accompany their fellow students on their academic journey as peers.
To mark the Tutorial Work Day, the Key Skills team of the Center for Educational Development and Technology (HDA) invited students and tutors to the reading courtyard (Lesehof) of the ULB Stadtmitte. There, they had the opportunity to learn about the services offered by this central support unit and to exchange ideas. This gave rise to inspiring conversations about the work and role of tutors. Alongside coffee and sweet treats, there were small gifts such as stickers and tote bags to colour in – a creative way of saying thank you to all tutors. Students could also draw and answer question cards that highlighted the diverse nature of tutorial work in a playful manner.
In cooperation with individual departments, we also visited tutors during their tutorials to thank them in person.
The Key Skills team of the Center for Educational Development and Technology (HDA) at TU Darmstadt would like to thank all tutors for their outstanding commitment!
