Have you ever experienced what it feels like to master a challenge under your own steam? This feeling of achieving your goals and growing in the process not only gives you confidence – it is the basis for a self-determined and fulfilling life.

In psychology, we talk about the concept of self-efficacy expectation (SWE for short, Jerusalem, 1990; Schwarzer, 1994). It describes the subjective conviction of being able to successfully master critical situations under one's own steam. Whether it is about solving a difficult task in your studies, passing an exam or overcoming personal obstacles – your self-efficacy helps you to act in an active and solution-orientated way. It is the key to dealing constructively with challenges in your studies and everyday life and at the same time strengthening your confidence in yourself.

In this workshop, you will learn how to strengthen your self-efficacy in order to go through your studies and everyday life with confidence. With practical exercises, inspiring impulses and valuable dialogue, you will discover your potential and learn to see setbacks as opportunities.

Learning objectives/outcomes:

  • The participants learn that a strengthened sense of self-efficacy has positive effects on many areas of life (and which ones).
  • The participants benefit from an exchange of experiences and can give each other tips on how to strengthen their belief in their own abilities in everyday life or in a university context.
  • They learn strategies for practising and / or strengthening self-efficacy and how to identify their own resources.
